Hazardous Weather Outlook—Wind Gusts Up to 40 MPH Tuesday, More to Come

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for our neck of the woods.

The National Weather Service-Chicago has issued a Special Weather Statement and a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the west suburbs. The Special Weather Statement is for today (Tuesday, March 6) and warns of "wind gusts up to 40 mph this afternoon." The winds are south to southwest, and will come up quickly this morning across Northern Illinois. Sustained winds will reach 20 to 30 mph this afternoon. The 40 mph wind gusts "could make traveling in high-profile vehicles difficult, especially on east-west oriented roads." The gusts are supposed to subside a bit this evening but be back again Wednesday. The good news Wednesday is the high temperature is slated to get up to 62 degrees. Weather: Expect Late Night Snow, Cloudy Weekend

Light snow showers are expected to develop Friday evening, but dissipate by late Saturday morning.

Another burst of snow is expected Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service. NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for DuPage County, anticipating that 'moderate snow' showers will begin Friday evening, and last through the early morning hours on Saturday. Total accumulation of one to two inches is expected. However, NWS forecasts sunny skies and a highs in the low 30's through the rest of the day. Temperatures will remain consisten on Sunday, with partly cloudy skies.
