Unknown Vandals Puncture Resident's Holiday Decorations

Here's an item from the Village of Lisle Police Department blotter on Jan. 4.

A resident on the 700 block of Rolling Drive reported criminal damage to property on Jan. 3 at 10:06 p.m. After hearing a loud noise from the front yard, the resident noticed an inflatable snow globe valued at $100 was punctured, according to Lisle Police reports. While the resident reported two vehicles speeding away westbound, no suspect information is available at this time.

UPDATED: Park District Encourages Residents to Report Suspicious Park Activity

After several instances of vandalism earlier this year, park district staff are asking residents to report suspicious activity to the police.

While Glen Ellyn residents are dealing with a series of stolen yard signs, unknown vandals have had their fun in Lisle, too. Director of parks and recreation Dan Garvy issued a memo detailing recent acts of vandalism in parks throughout the village for this week's regular board meeting. Incidents damaged features in eight parks (located on the map to the right), including Beaubien, Community, Kingston and Woodglen parks. According to staff notes these incidents began in April and occurred as recently as the second week of July. While the Lisle Police Department has confirmed knowledge of these incidents, and Garvy said at the meeting that police come out to photograph and guarantee the work isn't gang related, formal police reports are not…

Police Join Downers Grove Fire Investigation Following Reports of Vandalism

Residents of the Denburn Woods neighborhood reported a rash of incidents in the hours before house fire was discovered.

Downers Grove police have joined the investigation into the cause of a Saturday house fire at 5310 Meadow Lane after getting reports of a rash of vandalism in the Denburn Woods neighborhood in the hours before the fire. “There were other incidents that occurred in that general area during the same time, which we’re aware of,” said Sgt. David Bormann. “We are looking into the matter with the fire department.” Among the police personnel aiding in the fire department’s investigation is a trained arson investigator, Bormann said. “That’s typical for any fire such as this where we’re trying to determine cause.” Marsha Giesler, the Downers Grove Fire Department public information officer, confirmed the two departments have shared information …

Is There a Green Trails Vandal?

Here's an item from the Village of Lisle Police Department blotter on Mar. 22.

Between noon and midnight on Mar. 17, an unknown person or persons defaced approximately 25 electrical boxes, telephone poles and street signs in the Green Trails neighborhood with the word “Zenvo” written in green marker. No other information is available at this time.

Laptops Stolen From Car, Another Vehicle Vandalized

Here are some items from the Village of Lisle Police Department on Oct. 4.

Laptops stolen from vehicle An unknown person stole two laptop computers from an unlocked vehicle on the 4900 block of Keller Drive on the night of Oct. 1. Car window shattered An unknown person shattered the rear passenger window of a 2002 Dodge Caravan parked at the 5800 block of East Lake Drive around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. No items were reported missing.

Residence Egged by Unknown Persons

An item from the Village of Lisle Police Department on Oct. 4.

From the Village of Lisle Police Department An unknown person or persons egged a residence on Meadow Lane around 8:40 p.m. on Sept. 24. The report indicates a witness saw several juveniles running from the area around the time of the incident.

Bike Stolen, Car Vandalized and Man Driving On Suspended License

Here are some items from the Lisle Police blotter for Sept. 22-24.

Village of Lisle Police Department Vandal spray-paints car On Sept. 23 a resident on the 4000 block of Azalea Drive reported that somebody spray-painted the rear tail lights and license plate of a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis with black paint. The incident is believed to have occurred between 11 p.m. the night of Sept. 22 and the morning of the 23rd. Mountain bike stolen Someone stole a girls' green mountain bike from the area at Burlington and Winchester Avenues on Sept. 23. Man found driving while license suspended Lisle Police arrested Timothy D. Obrock, of 5710 Essex Rd., for driving while license suspended. Obrock was charged and released on an I-Bond on Sept. 24.
