OMG PD: Magic-Marker Threat, Apartment Climbing

Here's a round-up of recent, bizarre police report items from the area.

NAPERVILLE A woman who moved out of an apartment in the 200 block of East Bailey Road two months ago returned to the apartment May 15 and asked the property manager if she could get her belongings. She was told by the property manager that the apartment was cleaned out and she was not allowed to enter, police said. A resident then saw the woman scale the balconies to get to her old apartment on the third floor, but she was not able to gain entry, police said. CLARENDON HILLS An apartment tenant on the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue wrote in magic marker on his door that "any trespassers will be shot," according to a police report. Courtney A. Pringles, 44, 4732 Main St., Lisle, was charged with retail theft and damage to property at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 20 at Jewel-Osco, 1156 Maple Ave., police said.

Indictments in Meth Bust, Lisle Dad's Threatening Messages to Daughter's Coach: Court Watch

Police Blotter: Lisle Man Charged With Theft

Village of Lisle and Naperville police departments, June 15-16

FRIDAY, JUNE 15 Princess T. Austin, 21, of Bolingbrook, was charged with driving while her license is suspended on June 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and River Drive, according to Lisle police. She was released on bond. Brian Thomas Butler, 24, of the 5500 block of Lakeside Drive, was arrested at 10:39 a.m. at his residence, Naperville police said. He was charged with theft. His bail was set at $20,000. Butler is charged with two felony counts of theft for jewelry valued at more than $3,000 from his relatives' home, according to Naperville Sun.   SATURDAY, JUNE 16 Gerod Lee McClanahan, 38, of the 6000 block of Forest View Road, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. in the 800 block of East Ogden Avenue in Naperville, police said…

Three Men Charged in Armed Robbery of CiCi's Pizza on New Year's Eve

One suspect was also charged with robbing the same restaurant eight months earlier, while he worked there, police said.

Arrest warrants were issued today for three men accused of the New Year's Eve armed robbery of CiCi's Pizza in Plainfield. One of them, 22-year-old Corey M. Paytes, of 64 Eastfield Road, Montgomery, also confessed to robbing the restaurant in April 2011, when he was an employee there, Plainfield Sgt. Mike Fisher said. Paytes was charged with aggravated robbery and theft and given a bond of $1 million. His accomplices were Travis J. Gamble, 22, 14 Fox Run Drive, Newark, who was charged with aggravated robbery, and Josiah C. McCroskey, 22, 5824 Lenox Road, Lisle, who was charged with theft. Gamble's bond is $1 million and McCroskey's is $100,000. The three are believed to have been involved in multiple pizza restaurant robberies at the end …

Blotter: Generator Valued at $2,300 Taken from Construction Site

Here's an item from the Village of Lisle Police Department blotter on Jan. 10.

  A Honda generator valued at $2,300 was taken from a construction site on the 400 block of Warrenville Road sometime between the evening hours of Jan. 6 and the morning of Jan. 7, according to Lisle Police. Unknown suspects reportedly cut a chain that secured the generator to a pole on the site. No other information is available at this time.

Blotter: DUI, Theft from Skate Park

These items are from the Village of Lisle Police Department blotter on Nov. 14.

Driving under the influence Teddy D. Doherty, 20, of Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Oct. 30 at 12:49 a.m. at the intersection of Hitchcock and Yackley avenues after being stopped for improper lane usage. He was also charged with illegal consumption of alochol by a minor, and released on I-Bond.   Theft An unknown person stole a gym bag from the skate park in Community Park, which contained a cellphone, camcorder and water bottle, according to reports.

UPDATED: Glen Ellyn Man Arrested for Lisle Library Item Thefts

Missing books and DVDs may have been sold online, police say.

A Glen Ellyn man is responsible for several missing items from the Lisle Library District's stacks, according to police. The Lisle Police Department launched an investigation after the library reported items being taken without proper checkout. "Some time ago we noticed that books were disappearing and we found the security cases for DVDs, etc. in the men's room, having been pried off their items. We recognized this as a concerted effort, probably by one person, and notified police," said Rhonda Snelson, the library's public relations director. After a fourth-month investigation police obtained a search warrant for the Glen Ellyn apartment of James F. Jackson, 43, of the 300 block of Spruce Lane. Police reports indicate that unknown individuals stole two purses during the Naperville North prom Saturday night at the Wyndham Hotel Lisle-Naperville. Reports value one purse at $50 and the other at $75.

Police Warn Residents to be Wary of Vehicle Break-Ins

Police encourage residents to reach out if they have any information on a series of burglaries from vehicles in multiple locations.

Lisle Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that occured on the night of April 27. They did not disclose the locations, but encourage any residents who have information regarding the burglaries to contact the department at 630-271-4200. Police encourage residents to roll up all windows and lock vehicles, even when parked in garages or driveways. Don't leave keys or valuables such as phones, laptops, purses, GPS devices, and money in plain view. Always report suspicious activity to the police department.
