Observations From the Editor

People Patch Got to Know

Meet New Educators at Our Schools

Teachers discuss their credentials, classrooms and their lives outside of work. Today we profile a first grade teacher at Tate Woods School.

Lisle Elementary HSO Raises Funds for Programming With Clothing Sale

Childrens' clothing and accessories benefit Schiesher and Tate Woods.

The Lisle Elementary HSO hosted 150 sellers at this weekend's Lisle Elementary Clothing and Toy Resale. The event is a chance for residents to both re-sell their gently used children's goods and find items they need. The sale included clothing items for newborns to junior sizes, as well as maternity items. They also sold toys, video games, books, strollers and bicycles. Not only did the number of sellers increase, but the crowd also hit record highs. According to HSO members, the line to get into the half-price sale Saturday afternoon stretched out of the building. "Ticket room volunteers had to be pulled to work the shopping floor because the demand exceeded the normal schedule of volunteers," said Laura Tchakanakis, a mother, HSO board …
