Lisle Volleyball Claims Two Victories in One Night

Lions dispatch Plano and raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation

Sometimes it is the sign of a good team when you can win even when you are not playing your best.  The Lions held out against a tough Plano team, taking the match in two games (25-15, 25-23).   The Lions started slow in the second game, forcing them to come from behind for the victory.  “We won the first game by a lot so I think we came out a little relaxed” said Beth Plucinski.  “We kept getting distracted by hitting out, but we pulled through”.  The distractions were caused in part by the electric atmosphere at school, with the Lions and fans dressed in pink and supporting the fourth annual Volley for the Cure for the Susan G. Lisle Volleyball Defeats Custer Reed, Raises Money for Breast Cancer Research

The teams organized the third annual Volley for the Cure fundraiser last night.

The Lisle High School girls' volleyball team sponsored Volley for the Cure at last night's match against Reed Custer. Lisle defeated Reed Custer, and supported the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Fund. Dan Dillard, the high school's assistant principal and athletic director, said the school encourages the players to take a lead in organizing the event. This year the girls raised $1,500. "Financially I don't know if we're the largest, but it's an event the girls look forward to," Dillard said. Both teams donned pink uniforms and played with pink volleyballs. Referees and fans were encouraged to wear pink as well. Parent oversaw a bake sale table with pink-themed treats. According to Darlene Payne and Maureen Plucinski, who headed the bake sale …

The volleyball team hosts the third annual Volley for the Cure.

The Lisle High School varsity volleyball team beat Reed Custer tonight, and helped out the Susan G. Komen Foundtain in the process. Tomorrow learn more about Volley for the Cure. For now enjoy this shot of the players and fans in their finest shades of pink.
