Lisle Police conducted seat belt enforcement checks during the second half of May.
The Lisle Police Department recently wrapped up their participation in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Memorial Day “Click it or Ticket” seat belt enforcement/awareness campaign. Lisle police conducted six enforcement checks between May 14 and May 25. Officers issued 78 citations, 71 of which were issued for failure to wear a safety belt when required, according to a release from the department. Illinois Vehicle Code requires each driver and front seat passenger shall wear a properly fastened safety belt. Lisle police reported one impaired driving incident over the Memorial Day weekend.
