Six Students Receive Nursing Scholarship from Benedictine University

The Eveyln R. Simmers Trust provides financial assistance to those pursuing a bachelor or master's degree in nursing.

from Benedictine University Six nursing students at Benedictine University have been awarded 2010-2011 Evelyn R. Simmers Scholarships, said Brian Higgerson, D.N.Sc., assistant professor of nursing. One student will receive $13,500 and five will be awarded $3,870. The 2010-2011 scholarship recipients are: Mary Ann Collado-Wharton (Norridge); Ana Guler (Norridge); Sonya Guy (Chicago); Jackie Johnson (Jefferson, Ga.); Suzanne Payne (Brookfield); and Donna Perchastsch (Naperville). The Eveyln R. Simmers Trust was established in 2009 to endow scholarships for students pursuing either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing from the Department of Nursing at Benedictine University.
