Lisle Mayor Touts Municipal Highlights in State of the Village Address

Speaking to a crowd of more than100 people, the theme of this year's address was “Rising to Meet the Challenge.”

Lisle Mayor Joe Broda delivered the annual State of the Village address last Thursday during a Chamber luncheon held at the Hilton Lisle. Speaking to a crowd of more than100 people, Broda reviewed the municipal highlights of the year 2012. The theme of the address was “Rising to Meet the Challenge.” Broda said multipe new developments have transformed vacant land into productive use. He referenced DuPage Medical Group’s new 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art cancer and medical facility now open on the I-88 Corporate Corridor. DuPage Medical Group also leased an additional 55,000 square feet on Ogden Avenue and will employ a total of 610 people, making it one of …

Mayor to Give State of the Village Address Jan. 17

Mayor Joe Broda will review significant changes that occurred in 2012 and what's head in 2013.

Were you able to take a 2+ hour lunch to attend Broda's State of the Village address today from 11:30 - 1:30 pm? Some of us can't or won't take a 3 hr lunch. Those of us who are working and paying taxes are fully aware that the unemployment rate is still hovering at 8-9%.   more ›

Coffee With the Mayor Tuesday at Village Hall

This informal session provides residents and business owners an opportunity to discuss issues affecting them and the Lisle community.

Community members are invited to enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with Mayor Joe Broda Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Village Hall, 925 Burlington Ave. Unlike regular Village Board or workshop meetings, this informal session provides residents and business owners an opportunity to discuss issues affecting them and the Lisle community. Feel free to stop in, enjoy a cup of coffee, and chat with Mayor Broda.

I can't make it but I would like to know what property the village is now proposing to purchase that they plan to discuss in a closed meeting tonight! The Village can't sell the property it already owns on Main St and by that "pond" - why on earth would Lisle taxpayers want to fund purchase of more land? Can we afford to take more property off the tax rolls?   more ›

Girl Scouts Present New Study Results at Navistar Headquarters

A regional Girl Scout chapter found girls lacked role models in science and technology fields in a new study, according to a report from the Naperville Sun.

Members of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana visted the Navistar headquarters Monday to display Lego Robotics projects and learn about new research conducted related to women in technology, according to a report from the Naperville Sun. Read the full story.
