Gayden was sentenced to four years in prison, although he received a recommendation for boot camp that could have him released earlier. Gayden admitted he used force to take liquor and tobacco items from the store. Three other men - DeShaun Wilson, Antonio Finley and Antwan Jones - were also charged. Their cases are pending. DuPage and Kane County Court Case Week In Review: Jenna Jameson Loses a Round

A judge denied a motion to disqualify the opposing lawyer in a suit against her, and a roundup of other notable local cases.

DUPAGE: Elmhurst: The City of Elmhurst is expected to formally file by mid-October a motion seeking the dismissal of a lawsuit alleging its negligence caused flooding of residents' homes. Attorneys for the city and resident Alexander Arezina appeared in court on Sept. 19 when the judge set a filing schedule that will culminate with a Dec. 8 hearing on the city's attempt to have the case thrown out. Arezin sued Elmhurst in June claiming water backups into his home during a pair of 2010 storms were caused by a faulty city sewer system. The city is also facing a lawsuit filed by the Illinois Attorney General relating to sewer problems and overflows. In another Elmhurst-related case, a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars from Messiah …

Jenna Jameson Attorney Claims Lawsuit Followed 'Blackmail' Attempt

Email shows lump sum payment was sought from adult film star over canceled local appearances.

The owner of theaters in Naperville and Woodridge, through his attorney, demanded $50,000 from adult film star Jenna Jameson to avoid a lawsuit over canceled appearances, court records show. Naperville-based attorney Paul Nordini recently filed paperwork seeking to have lawyers from Bryan Cave LLP — which is representing Hollywood Blvd and Hollywood Palms owner Ted Bulthaup — disqualified from the case because of their actions prior to the lawsuit being filed in May. Specifically, Nordini cites an April 25 email from a Bulthaup attorney that "constitutes blackmail and [sic] or extortion attempt" in its demand for a lump sum $50,000 payment  from Jameson instead of rescheduling two heavily promoted meet-and-greets with fans and special …

UPDATED: Default Overturned In Jenna Jameson Case

The adult film star has hired a Naperville lawyer to cover her defense, and is working on a possible settlement, according to the Naperville Sun.

UPDATED: July 15, 11:40 a.m. A DuPage County judge overturned a default hearing against adult film star Jenna Jameson this week, according to the Naperville Sun. According to the article her attorney is trying to resolve the issue out of court, though he has also asked the court to dismiss the theater owner's legal team after allegations of attempting to blackmail the actress. Read the full story here.   Original story: In June the owner of two local movie theaters — Hollywood Palms in Naperville and Hollywood Boulevard in Woodridge — began a lawsuit against adult film star Jenna Jameson for not showing up at two heavily promoted events earlier this year in lieu of attending celebrity blogger Perez Hilton's birthday party. Adult Film Star Jenna Jameson A No-Show In Court

Judge rules in favor of a local theater owner who sued X-rated film actress for breach of contract.

The story of a suburban theater owner's lawsuit against Jenna Jameson appears headed — for now, at least — toward an unhappy ending for the adult film star. On Wednesday, DuPage County Judge Patrick Leston issued a default judgment against Jameson in a breach of contract case filed earlier this year by Ted Bulthaup, who owns Hollywood Boulevard in Woodridge and Hollywood Palms in Naperville. Patch first reported in June that Bulthaup sued Jameson — whose real name is Jenna Marie Massoli — after she skipped out on two heavily promoted meet-and-greet appearances at the theaters in March that coincided with special screenings of her 2008 movie Zombie Strippers! Jameson was served with the lawsuit on May 24 at her Huntington Beach, Calif., …

Week In Review: DuPage and Kane County Court Cases

It's a light week for the courts, but the a local theater owner is requesting a default judgment in his suit against adult film star Jenna Jameson.

DUPAGE: Lisle: - The lawsuit against Benedictine by the family of a former student is up for a hearing on July 5 when the school is going to ask for the judge to throw out the case. The school's dismissal motion basically argues technical problems, without addressing allegations they took items belonging to Rachel Julius after her drug overdose. Naperville: - The owners of Hollywood theaters wants a judge to enter a default judgment against porn star Jenna Jameson because neither she nor her attorneys have filed a response to the breach of contract lawsuit filed in May over her non-appearance earlier this year at screenings of "Zombie Strippers" in Naperville and Woodridge. Hearing is set for July 6. KANE: St. Charles: - Michael Listy, …
