The Naperville North Girls Socer team won the IHSA Class 3A Soccer Championship with seconds remaining in the fourth overtime period Saturday night. The Huskies took on St. Charles (North) North Stars at North Central College's Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. The game went into four overtime periods before the Huskies scored a goal with 42 seconds remaining in the period. Christa Szalach, #14, scored the winning goal. Lisle High School softball ended the 2012 season on Memorial Day battling Sherrard in the supersectional. Sherrard defeated the Lions 8-2. “Lisle senior Melanie Early will go down as one of the most talented pitchers and most liked players in Lisle softball history,” the Sun-Times writes. Read the full story. Lisle girls soccer also capped off their season last week, ultimately finishing fourth in state. Richmond-Burton defeated Lisle 3-0 on Friday evening, according to McHenrySports.com. Dan Dillard, the high school’s athletic director, has been very active on Twitter. Lisle High School's varsity girls soccer team will compete in the sectionals championship this week. Lisle High School is sponsoring the sectional with matches at Wilde Field, 5207 Center Ave. The girls take on Lombard Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. A win will secure the team a spot in Saturday's match, a chance to advance to the Hinckley Super Sectional next week. This year's Lady Lions include Sierra Birdsell, Danielle DiMaggio, Keely Geist, Katy Harper, Breann Hutchison, Molly Kranink, Kelsey Kretman, Katie Kulevich, Kara Laue, Val Melo, Sarah Mogensen, Allison Morten, Angie Ngo, Mariah Ortega, Elena Pivek, Hannah Prindeville, Lauren Prindeville, Vanessa Roach, Catherine Smith, Skyler Tomko, Ally Wroble, Christine Young, and Ashleigh Zurek. …
