A Naperville man died Thursday night after a collision with a light pole and police say they are looking for another vehicle that was in the area at the time of the accident. Matthew McMahon, 20, died as the result of injuries he received after crashing into a light pole at Diehl Road west of Arbiter Court, Naperville Police Sgt. Lee Martin said. The Naperville Police and Fire departments responded to a 911 call at 9:29 p.m. and upon arrival found a blue 2001 Toyota Corolla in the driveway of 1120 E. Diehl Road, Martin said. Officials believe McMahon was headed eastbound on Diehl Road when his vehicle left the road and hit a light pole. One individual is dead following a three-car crash on northbound I-355 on Saturday near the border of Lisle and Downers Grove. A spokesman with the Illinois State Police said that the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. near the on-ramp to I-88. Officials could not specify whether the fatality was a driver or passenger; they have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of the family. Two other individuals involved in the crash were transported to nearby hospitals, the spokesman said. An investigation is ongoing. Police are not releasing additional details at this time. A Naperville man is in serious condition at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove after reportedly driving his car the wrong way on I-88 near Lisle Saturday night and colliding with another car, killing two and seriously injuring a third, Illinois State Police said. According to State Police Master Sgt. Carlita Joe, the 43-year-old man was driving a red 2006 Porsche convertible eastbound in the westbound lanes near mile marker 130 around 6:28 p.m. when the crash occurred. now i rememeber this several weeks later, but there definitely were several GEESE wandering on the southbound i-355 lanes about this time. i saw them and me and other drivers swerved insanely to avoid them. an incredible hazard. a half hr later or so i'm returning northbound and encounter the back-ups due to this horrible accident   more ›
