Former Forest Preserve Employees Plead Not Guilty of Theft, Misconduct Charges

Mark McDonald and David Tepper deny charges they planned to bilk the DuPage County Forest Preserve of $150,000.

Mark McDonald and David Tepper, two former administrators at the DuPage County Forest Preserve, pleaded not guilty to charges they schemed to steal $150,000 from the forest preserve, the Daily Herald reported Tuesday. McDonald, 52, of Wheaton and Tepper, 49, of River Forest were arraigned Tuesday on 140 charges each of theft, accepting kickbacks and official misconduct. Former Forest Preserve Contractor Pleads Not Guilty in Theft Scheme

Arif Mahmood, a former contractor charged with stealing more than $10,000 from the DuPage County Forest Preserve District, pleads not guilty to 37 felony counts including theft, accepting kickbacks and official misconduct.

One of three men charged in a scandal at the DuPage County Forest Preserve District pleaded not guilty Monday to 37 felony counts, the Daily Herald reported. Forest Preserve Files Civil Action to Recover Taxpayer Dollars

Forest Preserve District of DuPage County files civil action to recover stolen taxpayer dollars in an alleged scheme of two former employees.

Attorneys for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County filed a civil action in court today seeking to recover all taxpayer dollars possible related to alleged crimes by criminally charged ex-employees as well as an ex-vendor, according to a press release from the forest preserve.   The complaint for declaratory judgment was filed in DuPage County Circuit Court as DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin on Wednesday announced charges against former Forest Preserve employees Mark McDonald and Dave Tepper, and Arif Mahmood from the computer vendor company Alamach Technologies, Inc. Why didn't the FP contact the FBI for assistance first in 2011 rather than hire a private computer forensics firm? In the end, they needed the FBI for this anyways, so why waste thousands of tax dollars to hire a private firm to do what a law enforcement agency is more qualified to do? Former DuPage County Forest Preserve Employees Charged with Theft, Official Misconduct

Two former DuPage County Forest Preserve District employees are charged with plans to bilk a government entity of more than $100,000.

Two former DuPage Forest Preserve District employees face charges of stealing more than $100,000 from a government entity with two "elaborate" schemes over a six-year period, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin announced Wednesday. Mark McDonald, 53, of the 1000 block of Childs Street in Wheaton, and David Tepper, 49, of the 300 block of Franklin Avenue in River Forest, worked in the Forest Preserve's IT department. McDonald was the director and Tepper was a manager, according to a press release from the State's Attorney's office.
