My fine Kane County compatriots! You’ve done well. Political perfection may be a pipe dream, but I have to say that things are looking a little better out here because of your recent voting proclivities. The sheriff who thought he was king is long gone and Pat Perez has done a phenomenal job in his place. In fact, he’s done so well that I’ve been encouraging him to consider a third term. You might want to do the same thing. Once stripped of her County Board cronies, Chairman Karen McConnaughay fled for Springfield faster than a Rush Limbaugh advertiser jumped ship. Downers Grove: A Downers Grove man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to mail fraud and stolen vehicle charges. Joseph Mazzio, 42, received a three-year prison term for bilking a woman out of approximately $7,500 in 2011. He was charged in that case while already facing two sets of charges from 2010 relating to possession of stolen vehicles. Mazzio received seven years in prison on those counts. The judge gave Mazzio credit for a little more than seven months he's spent in DuPage County Jail. Mazzio arrived for processing this week at Stateville Correctional Center. A 47-year-old Lisle man has been indicted on an aggravated possession of child pornography charge, court records show. Patrick Meyer, who was arrested on a warrant earlier this month, was the subject of an investigation after police were called to his apartment on Beau Monde Lane in February. A subsequent search of his computer turned up suspected child pornography, police said. Meyer remains held in DuPage County Jail on $75,000 bail with an April 24 hearing scheduled.

Tyris Robinson remains held in DuPage County Jail on $300,000 bail.
A 28-year-old Lisle man has been indicted on charges he pushed a physically handicapped 7-Eleven clerk and stole beer from a convenience store in February. Tyris Robinson remains held in DuPage County Jail on $300,000 bail. On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted him on multiple counts that include aggravated battery, robbery, retail theft, burglary and attempted aggravated robbery. According to the indictment, Robinson entered the 7-Eleven store on Ogden Avenue and demanded money from the clerk while claiming to have a gun. Robinson had placed his hand in his pocket and pointed it as if it were a gun. Robinson then pushed the male clerk, whose disability was not specified, and took several cans of beer. Lisle Police were called to a residence on the 4600 block of Old Tavern Road multiple times in the late afternoon and evening hours of Feb. 21 with reports of a domestic disturbance between two family members. During the officers' first response at 2:30 p.m., they charged Gregory Schultz, of Oswego, with disorderly conduct. He was processed at the Lisle Police Department. Officers told Schultz he was not allowed back at the residence under the conditions of his bond. Officers placed Schultz under arrest a second time when they responded to the same residence at 7:55 p.m. He was charged with assault and violation of bail bond. He is currently being held at the DuPage County Jail.

Naperville police said they arrested Brittany K. Hursh, 17, after finding packets and drug paraphernalia that tested positive for heroin. Police made other heroin-related arrests earlier this week.
A Naperville High School student was charged Wednesday with a felony count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance after police say items found in her possession tested positive for heroin. Brittany K. Hursh, 17, of the 2100 block of Snow Creek Road, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday after officers saw her making a drug transaction, Naperville Police Sgt. Nick Liberio said. Hursh is a student of Neuqua Valley High School, according to a report from the Naperville Sun. The Naperville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted an investigative stop after the officers saw Hursh making the transaction in a parking lot at Route 59 and 75th Street, Liberio said. DUPAGE: Wheaton: A 33-year-old St. Charles man accused of causing the death of a cat in Wheaton remains in DuPage County Jail on $25,000 bail after making his first formal court appearance on Jan. 3. Portia J. Washington, of the 1007 block of Lincoln Ave., was arrested on a warrant for battery on Oct. 8 at the Lisle Police Department. She was released the same day, posting a bail of $1,000. Blossom, Dupage county judicial system is a joke. Your guilty until proven innocent there and you best have a ton of money or you will lose all the time. Birkett is a joke and most all the assistent district attorneys are. They go after people for there own record and to improve the way they look, not the truth. Its an abortion.   more ›
