Readers React: Can Anything Be Done about Metra/BNSF Fatalities?

First, it happened in Westmont on March 7, then in Hinsdale on March 18 and in Downers Grove on March 19. All three incidents involved a single person; all three were fatal, all three are still under investigation and none have been officially established as accidents or self-inflicted. We wondered if our readers had any idea how to make this terrible streak go away, and how to help ensure these things happen as infrequently as …

Former Lisle Trustee Joe Schmitt Dies

Schmitt resigned from the Village Board due to health issues last month after nine years as trustee.

"He cared deeply for this community and his imprint will remain for years on projects such as the redevelopment of Downtown Lisle and the creation of the Ogden Corridor Master Plan, for which he was a …

In her case, it was her elderly neighbor Harry whom she barely had any contact with except for when he chased her away from his bird bath. But that didn’t stop her from becoming completely obsessed with his sudden …

I am so glad I never have to worry about reproducing. Having to raise kids, let alone special needs ones scares the shit out of me, especially after reading articles like this. My biggest fear if I had an autistic kid would be he/she becoming the next Chris-chan.   more ›
