Police Department To Hire Two More Officers

The Lisle Village Board approved a request presented by Police Chief James Kosatka to hire two additional patrol officers as well as two part-time community service officers.

Chief Kosatka said he hopes to have two new police officers hired by fall so they can get into the police training academy in October. Two part-time community service officers (CSO's) will be trained and each will work about 20 hours a week. Kosatka said a decision was made last year after he joined the force to buy out the contracts of three police officers to better manage the department. But after they left, three other officers left for various reasons, putting the total count of officers to 26, below the legal number established in a village ordinance.
