An acclaimed haven for lovers of rare brews and great food, The Bavarian Lodge has introduced seven beers from New Hampshire’s Smuttynose Brewing.
Every self-respecting beer connoisseur knows that The Bavarian Lodge is the place in Lisle to experience rarities in the art of brewing. In keeping with that tradition, the Bavarian Lodge introduced seven creations from New Hampshire's Smuttynose Brewing to appease the discerning beer enthusiast. Although cars were lined up down the street, the parking lot was jammed, and the house was full, the Nov. 3 event event was surprisingly low-key. Smuttynose owner, Peter Egelston, not an attention-seeker, opted to set up at a small table in the bar area and let people huddle around him rather than make a formal presentation showcasing his beer. You wouldn't know who he was unless someone told you, yet beer aficionados knew, and kept shaking his …

Recently hailed as a top 40 beer restaurant, the lodge debuted two casks from Bavaria's G. Schnieder & Sohn Brewery last week.
Beer fans, (yes beer fans, not Bears fans) from the Chicagoland area know a well kept secret—that Bavarian Lodge. The restaurant, which was rated one of the top 40 best beer restaurants by RateBeer.com, not only serves flavorful authentic German food, they also boast an impressive list of imported draft beers. Another interesting facet of the restaurant is their event nights, in which beer experts are brought in to introduce the special beer that is being tapped. Lisle Patch attended the Schneider Cask & Keg Night last Thursday evening. The highlight was the tapping of two casks—the Schneider Weisen-Edel Weisse and Schneider Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock. Owner Alan Taylor kicked off the ceremony that was held in the bar area and included a …
