'American Idol' Sends Naperville Resident, Benet Student to Hollywood

After auditioning in Chicago, Benet Academy junior Alex Oechsel makes it to the next round in Fox's 'American Idol.'

The American Idol premiere continues tonight on Fox at 7 p.m. Oechsel is no stranger to the stage as she's performed in numerous productions at North Central College and Benet Academy. Last summer, Oechsel was one of two girls cast as Dorothy in North Central College's production of "The Wizard of Oz". Along with her sister, Taylor, Oechsel also performed in "Annie" in 2011 …
