Buford, I'll go out on a limb and say we probably agree on what should happen to this guy when he's caught. My question/comment is "do the risks out wieght the benefits?" My wife, children, and I were stopped at a light and this ass went flying through the intersection right in front of us. I don't know if he would of speed away recklessly after the theft, but the police chasing him didn't help. …   more ›

No, surely, it had to be that the cops needed to catch up on their tickets so they figured on chasing the first car so they could get the ticket price higher and scared the poor driver so badly that the driver hit the gas instead of stopping and caused the first car to hit all those parked cars. Clearly, it's the cops fault and they should have to pay damages and injuries to the occupants of the …   more ›

A Time To Be Grateful

Jim Hrubik, a motorcyclist hit by a teen driver three months ago, has much to be grateful for.

Jim Hrubik loves to ride motorcycles. "I love riding. There is no other feeling like it. People don't realize what they take away from you when you can't after an accident," Hrubik said. On Aug. 26, Jim was riding home on his motorcycle. He followed Maple east, approaching the left turn lane to head south on Route 53. A 17-year-old female driver was turning left out of the strip mall parking lot that hosts Walgreens and Malloy's Finest, and with an opening in traffic, pulled out and struck Hrubik. The front tire of her SUV locked with the front tire of Hrubik's motorcycle. This collision caused him to propel forward, hitting his groin against the handlebars and disconnecting his pelvic arch. He recognizes that since he was not wearing a …
