A Chicago man will spend several years behind bars for his role in the 2012 robbery of a Lisle 7-Eleven. Antwan Jones, 18, 11406 S. Throop St., was sentenced Tuesday to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Blanche Hill Fawell, according to a press release from the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office. At about 2:15 a.m. on July 19, 2012, Jones, along with three others, robbed the 7-Eleven, 4651 Old Tavern Road, according to the Lisle Police Department. An employee who was assaulted during the incident was transferred to Edward Hospital for treatment. No weapons were used, police said. Four men, including two from Lisle, were charged with robbery and mob action after police said they robbed the Old Tavern Road 7-Eleven and assaulted the clerk on duty.
Four men took miscellaneous items from a convenience store on Old Tavern Road early Thursday morning, according to a news release from the Lisle Police Department. An employee was also physically assaulted. The individuals robbed 7-Eleven, 4651 Old Tavern Rd., around 2:16 a.m., according to the report. An employee who was assaulted during the incident was transferred to Edward Hospital for treatment. No weapons were used, according to the report. A 28-year-old Lisle man has been indicted on charges he pushed a physically handicapped 7-Eleven clerk and stole beer from a convenience store in February. Tyris Robinson remains held in DuPage County Jail on $300,000 bail. On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted him on multiple counts that include aggravated battery, robbery, retail theft, burglary and attempted aggravated robbery. According to the indictment, Robinson entered the 7-Eleven store on Ogden Avenue and demanded money from the clerk while claiming to have a gun. Robinson had placed his hand in his pocket and pointed it as if it were a gun. Robinson then pushed the male clerk, whose disability was not specified, and took several cans of beer.
