St. Procopious is a keystone of the Benedictine community here in Lisle, sitting at the corner of Maple and Yackley…More avenues. Originally in Chicago, the abbey transferred to Lisle in 1914, along with its high school and college (now known as Benet Academy and Benedictine University). It offers a quarterly publication written by St. Procopious monks called Reflections.
The Abbey itself was constructed to fit within the shape of the neighboring woods. It includes a church, chapel, Chapter Room, guest house and parlor, library, infirmary, bell tower, private chapels and shrine of St. Benedict. The grounds house a courtyard, vegetable garden and orchard.
The Abbey provides room for guests who wish to join them in prayer. Anyone is welcome to attend mass.
