Weekend: 'Sturgis in Lisle' Motorcycle Festival on Saturday

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Lisle for Friday, Aug. 9-11:

·       Saturday is the 9th Annual “Sturgis in Lisle” motorcycle event at the Lisle Harley-Davidson (2595 Ogden Avenue, Lisle) featuring food by Pizzeria Bombola, beverages (including alcohol,) live music from Slippery When Wet, and, of course, huge deals from tons of vendors on motorcycles and motorcycle parts and paraphernalia. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

·       The Lisle French Market is in the heart of its season, running from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturdays at the Metra Commuter Lot on Burlington between Spencer and Center. Come and explore “vendors selling fresh-baked goods, locally-grown produce, unique artisan creations, and much more.”

·       “On Saturday morning, August 10, join us at Sacred Heart Monastery (1910 Maple Ave, Lisle) as Dr. Christine Fletcher of Benedictine University discusses, Mary, Woman of Strength. Dr. Fletcher says, ‘Mary was an obstacle, not a help for me as a convert. Over the years, however, I have come to appreciate her place in our faith, her love for us, and the model she can be when the sugary piety is removed and the real woman emerges.’” The event begins with Lectio Divina at 9:00 a.m.
