Haute Sausage Offers Exotic Sausages, Chicago Standards Downtown

The restaurant near Willis Tower serves up the likes of alligator sausage as well as the more recognizable Italian.

Craving an alligator sausage while downtown?

You’re in luck. The popular Haute Sausage food truck has opened up a brick and mortar store just south of Willis Tower serving up “Afro-Midwestern encased meats.”

Haute Sausage’s restaurant opened this week at 335 S. Franklin. Owner Rich Levy grew up in South Africa and moved to the Midwest, and combines those two culinary cultures in his sausages.

Zagat reports that in addition to the exotic meats on the menu, Levy represents his Midwestern home with an Italian sausage dubbed the Elmwood Porker. There are also extras like curry potatoes chips and yucca fries.
