Plenty to Eat and Do at the Kiwanis Club of Lisle Pancake Day

The annual family fundraiser supports the local chapter's annu

At , pancakes and sausage were on the menu, and “How many” was the question of the day!  Regardless of how many you ordered, you had to leave room for the sweet toppings, milk, juice and coffee.

The annual Kiwanis Pancake Day brought families from Lisle and neighboring communities together to share some quality time as well as support a great cause.  Funds raised from this event will be used throughout the year to support everything from the Children’s Birthday Fund to scholarships for students.

Raffles were also a big part of the fund raising activities.

“They came from all over,” said organizer Debbie Breihan of the raffle prize donations.  “They came from the Park District, local restaurants, the cleaners and even from private individuals.  We have some great prizes!”

If the delicious mix of pancakes, strawberries and whipped cream seemed like a lot of food, the open basketball gym gave the kids plenty of opportunities to work off a few calories!

When the kids needed a rest, a coloring table was always available, and there was often a line for the face painting done by volunteers from .  Entertainment was provided by the Lisle Junior High Jazz Band.

With all these activities going on, what was the most fun part of the day?

“To see who eats the most pancakes,” joked Chris Fry of the Kiwanis Club.
