Heat Wave Continues

Check out hot weather tips and locations of nearby cooling centers as an excessive heat warning continues for Chicagoland.

An excessive heat warning remains in effect as temperatures stay stagnant in the high 90's and low 100's this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures could hit 100 Thursday and Friday, the NWS says. An air quality alert is also in effect for the Chicago metro area.

The advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. Friday evening. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s on Saturday, dipping into the 80s for the oncoming week, according to the advisory.

As temperatures regularly climb above 90 degrees, be sure to take precautions against heat related illnesses.

Should these centers fill, DuPage County may opt to open  as an emergency cooling center.
