The Bonfield Express 5K Run/Walk is a Downers Grove Thanksgiving tradition dedicated to the memory of Downers Grove South teacher and coach Jim Bonfield. Funds generated through this event provide scholarship assistance to area high school seniors who reflect his personal example of character, perseverance, and love of community. The race features chip timing and a USA Track and Field certified course that loops around the downtown business district before winding its way through scenic neighborhood streets.
