Watergate Journalist Bob Woodward to Visit Benedictine University

The journalist will discuss wars and foreign policy at the April event.

Bob Woodward, a journalist at The Washington Post who helped break the Watergate scandal that ultimately led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon, will speak at Benedictine University at 7 p.m. on April 12 on the second floor of the Krasa Student Center.

Woodward’s presentation, “Obama’s Wars and Foreign Policy: Challenges Facing the Administration and the American People,” is sponsored by the Center for Civic Leadership and Public Service at Benedictine University.

Woodward is regarded as one of America’s preeminent investigative reporters and non-fiction authors. He has worked for The Washington Post since 1971 as a reporter and is currently an associate editor. While a young reporter in 1972, Woodward was teamed with Carl Bernstein and the pair did much of the original news reporting on the Watergate scandal.

Woodward has authored or co-authored 16 non-fiction books in the last 36 years. All 16 have been national bestsellers and 12 have been No. 1 national non-fiction bestsellers.

The Center for Civic Leadership and Public Service at Benedictine University was established by former Illinois Attorney General and Benedictine University Distinguished Fellow Jim Ryan to shape a new generation of public leaders and responsible citizens.
