Schiesher Principal Promoted to Director of Personnel, Staff Development

Dr. Linda Kotalik has served District 202 school since 2005.

In March the District 202 Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Linda Kotalik as the new Director of Personnel and Staff Development.

The position of Director of Personnel and Staff Development was created after a careful review of current trends in education coupled with the needs of the district.  The goal of Director of Personnel and Staff Development will be to promote excellence in the District by administering personnel and professional development-related matters and collaborating on assessments to ensure that the needs of the District are supported effectively and efficiently with the goal of providing the best possible educational services within the financial resources available.  The Director of Personnel and Professional Development will also serve as a liaison within the District to support and continuously improve technology instruction and enhance learning through expanded integration of technology.

Kotalik has been in education for twenty years and has served the students as the Principal of Schiesher Elementary since 2005.  Her leadership and visionary style have created an environment that motivates and challenges our faculty and students to embrace and succeed in their learning.  She is an experienced teacher, administrator, and instructional leader who displays student centered professionalism throughout her varied responsibilities.  Dr. Patricia Wernet, Superintendent said, “Dr. Kotalik is a dedicated, capable, conscientious, and resourceful problem solver.  Her commitment to the District 202 educational system, personal drive and ability to communicate make her a perfect choice for the Director of Personnel and Staff Development.  Her knowledge and experience will support our continued efforts to improve student learning.”

“Seven years ago I came to Lisle Community Unit School District 202 because of the amazing educators and families who are committed to only the very best for their children.  I now have the good fortune to continue my career in Lisle in a slightly different capacity," Kotalik said.

“While Lisle has many achievements for which we are very proud, we remain determined to continue to challenge students and staff to achieve new levels of academic success.  My experience as a teacher and as a principal are critical as we continue this work.  I am excited to provide support to teachers and principals in this new role as we continue our commitment of improving student achievement.”  

Dr. Kotalik completed her undergraduate work at Central Michigan University and her Masters and Doctoral program in Educational Leadership at Northern Illinois University.  Dr. Kotalik resides in Glen Ellyn with her husband and two children.

The position is effective July 1.

Kotalik is not the only District 202 administrator shifting to a new position. Keith Filipiak was for the 2012-2013 school year.
