District 202 art teachers Carol Frueh and Nancy Staszak have teamed up with Artsonia, an online children's art museum based out of Gurnee, to display the artwork of Tate Woods and Schiesher elementary schools.

Artsonia features over 5 million pieces of artwork from schools in 100 countries. The site ranks schools based on the number of projects submitted to the site, fan club members and comments. Tate Woods is currently second overall in the state.

"We have had two students nominated (nationally) for Artist of the Week so far, and we are so proud of them," said Staszak.

Users can search for artwork by grade level and theme within each school. Families have the ability to join the school's fan club, start a guestbook, and purchase prints of their children's work. Fifteen percent of purchase proceeds benefit school art programs.
