Naperville Sun: NNHS Students Appear Intoxicated on First Day

The district's disciplinary procedures call for a 10 day external suspension on a first offense, which can be reduced to five days if the student enrolls and completes a chemical depency assessment, according to the Naperville School District 203 Student Handbook.

District 203 Alcohol, Drugs and Tobacco Disciplinary Procedures
1. Possession/use of alcohol or drugs or being under the influences of alcohol or drugs:
1st offense – 10 days external suspension. Reduced to 5 days if student enrolls and completes a chemical dependency assessment and follows recommendations made by the assessor.
2nd offense – 10 days external suspension and recommendation
for expulsion.
2. Possession/use of tobacco or tobacco products:
1st offense – 3 days external suspension. Reduced to one day if the student enrolls in and completes a tobacco education program.
2nd offense – 5 days external suspension. Reduced to 3 days if the student enrolls in and completes a tobacco education program.
3rd offense – 10 days external suspension and recommendation for expulsion.
Note: There is also police involvement for students who
are under the age of 18, in accordance with Naperville
City Ordinance.
