Lisle Schools Hire New Finance Director

David Wilkinson will leave his job as manager of a public accounting firm that specializes in auditing school districts in DuPage County and surrounding areas.

 

will have a new director of finance starting May 1. The School Board approved the appointment of David Wilkinson to the post at its Feb. 27 meeting.

Wilkinson is a manager for the public accounting firm Mathieson, Moyski, Celer & Co., LLP, a firm specializing in auditing school districts in DuPage County and surrounding areas.

For the last five years, Wilkinson has been the lead external auditor for Lisle Community Unit School District 202, which has allowed him to develop a working relationship with his new team.

Dr. Patricia Wernet, District 202 superintendent said about Wilkinson, “Dave has very strong communication skills and a strong knowledge of District 202’s finances. I believe that he will contribute a great deal to the district and we’re looking forward to a long, happy tenure.”

Wilkinson began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as an assurance and business advisory services associate. He also spent three years with American Express Financial Advisors where he became a Series 7 and Series 66 licensed representative.

“I am excited to have this opportunity to join such a wonderful district,” Wilkinson said. “Having witnessed firsthand the quality of its administrators and staff, I am proud to become part of a community that strives to provide excellence in education.”

Wilkinson graduated with honors from the University of Illinois with a bachelor of science in accountancy. He is a licensed certified public accountant. He and his wife and their two daughters live in Winfield.
