District 203 Superintendent to Resign Saturday

District 203 Superintendent Mark Mitrovich expressed his thanks to students and staff in a press release issued yesterday before he officially steps down June 30.

After three years as the Superintendent of Naperville School District 203, Mark Mitrovich will officially resign his position this Saturday, June 30.

"As the end of June approaches and my time with all of you as Superintendent comes to a close, I wish to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation," he said in a press release. "Naperville is a wonderful community with strong schools that will continue to provide an enriching educational experience for all students."

He went on to wish the district well before he officially steps down. 

"I would like to thank all of you who have supported, guided and encouraged me over the years. I also appreciate the good wishes I have received from so many of you after I announced my decision," Mitrovich said in a press release. "My best wishes to everyone."

Last month, for the Bellevue School Board superintendent position in Bellevue, Washington, but was not offered the position.

Mitrovich built his career in Washington state where he was employed as the Superintendent of the Peninsula School District located in Gig Harbor. He co-founded EdGate, where he spent 10 years as the company’s chief education officer. He is also the developer of Total Reader, an Internet-based reading assessment program for students in grades K-12.

District 203 Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Dan Bridges will serve as interim superintendent beginning July 1.
