At the January 9, 2012 Special Board Meeting, Board of Education appointed Keith Filipiak as the District’s new Superintendent, effective July 1, 2012. He follows Dr. Patricia Wernet, who will be after serving the District as Superintendent for four years.

Filipiak currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Lisle School District. Prior to joining the Lisle School District, Filipiak was the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for Palos Community Consolidated District 118 in south suburban Palos Park for six years and Business Manager/Director of Technology for Brookwood School District 167 in Glenwood for four years. He also served as a certified public accountant for the international accounting firm of RSM McGladrey for seven years prior to joining the field of education.

Pam Ahlmann, President of the Lisle CUSD 202 Board of Education said that having worked with Keith over the past five years, she values his dedication and knowledge of the District, as well as his proven integrity and financial responsibility.

“We are exceptionally pleased that Keith will provide continuity in District leadership. He understands and appreciates District 202 and the positive direction we are going. He has shown that he possesses the attributes identified by our stakeholders as critical to the superintendency. He has also been active in the development and achievement of the District Goals and by working collaboratively with administrators, staff and the community, has acquired experience in all initiatives and roles of the Superintendent.”

Filipiak’s educational background includes multiple degrees from Northern Illinois University including a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Masters in Business Administration. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant and has a Type 75 administrative certification with a Superintendent and a Chief School Business Official endorsement. He has finished his classwork for earning his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at National-Louis University and is in the process of completing his dissertation.

Dr. Patricia Wernet stated, “I believe the Board of Education has been prudent in selecting a talented, existing team member who has already established meaningful relationships in our schools and community. We have built capacity in our administrative team structure, which effectively prepares the next leader to oversee the School District’s operations.”

“I am very excited and honored to be named the new Superintendent in Lisle Community Unit School District 202,” Filipiak said. “Working with the staff and community of Lisle School District has been an incredible experience and I am very proud to be a part of a district that is always focused on what is best for children. It is evident that the community values and supports education. I am committed to making every effort to lead and support the administrators, staff, and all students in order to continue promoting academic excellence in District 202.”
