New Trustee Mandel: 'Expand Lisle While Maintaining Small-Town Feel'

"My vision is to continue to make our village one of the best places to live and work in the Chicagoland area," the new Lisle trustee said.

New Village of Lisle trustee Bob Mandel, who officially replaced Ed Young on the Village Board in mid-July, says he is looking forward to serving the Village through local government after several years working through organizations like Lisle Teens with Character and the Knights of Columbus, the Suburban Life reports.

“I love Lisle and wanted to give back to the community,” Mandel told the paper. “I have always enjoyed community service and working with others to make our community a better place to live… I believe we all have a responsibility to give back to our community, as well as help others less fortunate in any capacity we can.”

According to the paper, Mandel lists his priorities as tackling Village’s problems with flooding and stagnating economic development, as well as focusing on businesses that appeal to a family dynamic and/or provide “unique” experiences.
