Inspector General Investigation Leads to Lisle Man's Resignation

A report found that the Department of Labor inspector committed multiple transgressions at his job, including failing to ever inspect a ski lift.

A Lisle man formerly employed as an inspector with the Illinois Department of Labor has resigned after a report from the state's executive inspector general found several incidents of wrongdoing, including failure to inspect potentially dangerous equipment, the Daily Herald reports.

According to the paper, investigators found that Charles Drager received over $1,000 in undue reimbursements, frequently left work for an undisclosed second job as a vocal impressionist and neglected his inspections of an unspecified ski lift and bounce castle.

"More disturbing than the monetary loss was the fact that Mr. Drager's misconduct potentially risked the well-being of children, adults, and others who put faith in the state to conduct competent and complete inspection(s) of carnival rides, ski lifts, and inflatable devices," the report reads.
