The Wheaton Park District is hoping to see more than 834 kites flying simultaneously during this year's Go Fly a Kite event in Wheaton.
This year the event will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Graf Park, 1701 Manchester Road. This family friendly event will feature activities for all ages, including a kite demonstration by the Chicago Fire Kite Team, a new highest kite flying contest, kids mad dash, most unique kite contest and kids candy drop.
The park opens at 10 a.m., and the "grand launch," where participants try to beat Wheaton's record of 834 kites flying simultaneously, will be at 11 a.m.

This event is free, but organizers encourage you fill out a preregistration form and bring it to the event in order for them to get an accurate count for the number of participants. For more information, visit www.wheatonparkdistrict.com/goflyakite.
