Wheaton Police, School Officials Investigate Images Posted to 'Dummy' Social Media Accounts

Wheaton Police and District 200 officials are investigating an incident that involved students who posted inappropriate images involving staff and students at Edison Middle School on "dummy" social media accounts, according to the Daily Herald. 

Wheaton police said the investigation is for "harassment with an electronic communication," and Edison families were made aware of the situation Tuesday in an e-mail from Principal Rachel Bednar who wrote that it is believed that all the social media accounts had been deactivated and all student offenders identified, according to the article. 

District officials said the images "were not true images" but were a "combination of images" that involved "a lot of creative cutting and pasting," according to the Daily Herald.
