Suspect Still at Large in Wheaton Bank Robbery
A Wheaton Fifth-Third Bank was robbed Monday afternoon. The suspect is still at large.
From Wheaton Patch: A Wheaton Bank was robbed of an unknown amount of money Monday afternoon. The suspect is still at large.
At 3:57 p.m. a male suspect approached a teller at the , 1500 N. Main St., and presented a note demanding money. According to the Wheaton Police Department the suspect implied he was armed, although no gun was displayed. The suspect was given an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot, Wheaton Police said.
No one was injured during the robbery and no shots were fired by the suspect. Police were notified after bank employees activated the robbery alarm. Wheaton police officers, with the assistance of a DuPage County Sheriff’s canine unit, unsuccessfully searched the area for the suspect. Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also assisting Wheaton Police with the investigation.

The suspect was described as an approximately 6 foot-tall African-American male between 19- and 22-years-old. He weighs between 150 and 175 pounds. He was wearing a black stocking cap, black coat, black pants and dark glasses.
