The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District conducted training drills at Navistar’s Lisle campus this week, and SJA students were allowed to observe part of the work.

The training drills were attended by eight eighth-graders, Principal Sister Carolyn Sieg, Assistant Principal Henry Wind and two parents. The group first toured an area where firefighters would later use thermal imagining in theatrical
smoke to detect mannequins. They were then introduced to the 15 firefighters present on the campus and sat in on the pre-drill informational meeting. After observing the 30-minute drill and learning about the cutting-edge techniques used by the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, the group had the opportunity for a Q-and-A session with the firefighters.
