DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Seizes $300,000 in Cocaine Following Undercover Investigation

Sheriff John E. Zaruba announced the office's Tactical Narcotics Team arrested and charged two men with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance in Woodridge this Tuesday.

Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies seized one kilo of cocaine and arrested two men on Tuesday following a two-month undercover investigation.

Officers seized the cocaine, with a street value of $300,000, following a controlled purchase at approximately 4:20 p.m. in Woodridge, according to a release issued by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

Alejandro Ramirez, 38, of Chicago, is charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Jaime Cabrera, 38, of Berwyn, is charged with one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Officers also seized two vehicles during the arrest.

Members of the Woodridge, Lisle and Naperville police departments assisted in the investigation. 

According to the release, the men are being held at the DuPage County Jail. Bond was set for $750,000 each. A representative with the sheriff’s office was not immediately available for comment.

This is the third incident of its kind this week. On Tuesday the Daily Herald reported two men were arrested following the seizure of in Lisle.

Thursday morning the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group took seven men into custody after making a at a Glen Ellyn restaurant. from $750,000 to $1.5 million for the individuals earlier Friday.
