UPDATED: Metra Train Kills Man Thursday Night at Naperville Station

Police said the man stepped onto the tracks as a train was approaching the station.

A man was killed Thursday night after stepping out in front of a Metra train, Naperville police said.

The accident occurred at about 6:21 p.m. at the , according to a news release the sent out Thursday night. Police responding to the call were told that the man had stepped onto the track as a Westbound Metra train was approaching the station. The train was unable to stop.

The man’s identity is not being released pending identification and notification.
