Lisle Woman Dies After Driving Into Westchester Pond

The 76-year-old called her friend, who alerted police, who found the car in an office park retention pond 24 minutes later.

A Lisle woman died Saturday night after driving into a small retention pond outside an office park (2215 Enterprise Dr., along Cermack Road) in Westchester, the Doings La Grange reports.

According to the Suburban Life, Yong Cha Marvin, 76, was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital at 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.

A friend of Marvin's phoned Westchester police at 10:26 p.m. saying that Marvin had just called her and reported having driven into water somewhere near Westchester, the paper said; police immediately started searching, but did not find the car in the pond until 10:50 p.m.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, the Doings said, and Westchester police are still investigating.
