Lisle Police Arrest 10 During Roadside Checks

Enforcement over four nights yields 39 offenses.

The Lisle Police Department recently released the results of a four-night effort to crack down on drivers operating vehicles under the influence and violating other driving laws.

Officers performed Roadside Safety checkpoints on Aug. 20, Sept. 3 and Sept. 17, as well as a village-wide patrol focusing on DUI and seat belt usage on Sept. 16. According to a report issued by the department, 11 percent of 348 drivers were arrested or issued tickets at points along Maple and Ogden avenues.

  • Ten arrests were made, five for driving under the influence and five for drug-related incidents.
  • Officers charged one individual with possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Officers did not find any open containers or cases of underage drinking.
  • Nineteen individuals were charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and four with driving on a suspended drivers license.
  • Officers also found five cases of Illinois Vehicle Code Violations, such as improper lane usage and failure to signal.

The roadside checks were completed as part of the effort to promote the "Click It or Ticket," and "You Drink & Drive, You Lose" campaigns, and enforce safe driving.
