Blotter: Holiday Traffic Enforcement Results, Other Traffic Violations

Holiday motor safety enforcement efforts
The recently released the results of its recent . Police issued 60 safety belt citations, and made four impaired driving arrests and three other significant arrests, according to a release from the department.

Law enforcement agencies throughout the state participated in this nationwide
effort to get impaired drivers off Illinois roadways during the 2011 holiday season. The Lisle Police Department joined forces with other state and local law
enforcement and highway safety partners in the crackdown campaign, featuring
high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a strategic media campaign and additional enforcement activity.

Extra emphasis was given to late-night hours, as statistics show the highest
number of motorists drink and drive and the fewest motorists buckle up during
this time of day.

Driving while license suspended
Kevin C. McPhee, 20, of the 4400 block of Brittany Drive, was charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped for a traffic violation on Dec. 30 at 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Green Trails and New Albany. He was released on bond.

Warrant for arrest
Matthew J. Billich, 23, of the 5500 block of Kingston, was arrested on two warrants for failure to appear on Jan. 1. The warrants are for driving under the influence (DUI) and driving while license suspended. Billich posted bond, according to police reports.
