Faculty at Spring Brook Elementary School were prepared Monday to tell students that Wild died over the weekend, but would not be sharing details of his death with students, according to a message the school’s Principal Dave Worst sent to parents on Sunday. The school’s staff met Sunday to determine how to proceed. Parents with children in Wild's class were allowed to attend the start of classes Monday.

The school experienced the loss of students earlier this year when two students were killed in a car accident while on vacation in India, according to a story in the Naperville Sun.
