CHICAGO (Jan. 16, 2013) - The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association (CSOA) today announced that it will present five concerts at The Morton Arboretum on June 27, 29 and 30, 2013.
On Thursday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m., the Chicago Symphony Orchestra salutes the music of composer John Williams, performing such familiar pieces as his Suite from Star Wars, March from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Adventures on Earth from E.T.: The ExtraTerrestrial. Richard Kaufman conducts.
On Saturday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m., Carlos Miguel Prieto leads the CSO in an all-Tchaikovsky program featuring Capriccio italien and Symphony No. 4, as well as the Violin Concerto with soloist Jennifer Koh.
On Saturday, June 29 at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. the CSO gives two performances of Goldilocks and the Three Bears from its Once Upon a Symphony series, which offers small ensemble concert experiences designed specifically for families with children ages 3 to 5.
Prieto also leads the CSO in a family-oriented concert on Sunday, June 30 at 3 p.m.; the program will be announced at a later date.

Henderson, chairman of the CSOA Board of Trustees adds, "We believe there is an audience to be served in DuPage County and the surrounding areas and that having a CSO involvement would benefit residents of all ages. A presence in the western suburbs is in keeping with the CSO's mission of engagement with new audiences."
