Literacy DuPage Tutor Training at Lisle Library District

Help Change Someone’s Future … Become an Adult Literacy Tutor Today!
Literacy DuPage provides accessible and customized one-to-one English language tutoring to adults with low-level literacy skills who speak English as their first or second language. Our students have difficulty accessing classroom instruction due to transportation obstacles, work schedules, or lack of childcare.

No experience, teaching background or second language is required to be a tutor, just a willingness to help a neighbor. Tutors will receive a comprehensive training in a series of six workshops preparing them for one-to-one tutoring. Once matched with an adult learner, Literacy DuPage staff will provide continued support.

Please plan to attend all 6 sessions: May 5, 8, 12, 15, 19 and June 2 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Lisle Library District.  There is a $25 fee to help cover the cost of materials.  For more information, refer to Literacy DuPage’s website www.literacydupage.org  or call 630.416.6699.
