Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at Benedictine
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, “A Day On, Not a Day Off,” is an opportunity for community members to participate in a variety of activities that will benefit the needy in DuPage County. Volunteer activities include making fleece blankets, donating blood, creating valentines for veterans, writing letters to American troops, constructing build-a-bears, creating room decorations for area hospitals, making bird feeders and filling birthday bags for children who would not have food to eat without the aid of local food pantries.
Volunteers under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Donations of fleece, cake mixes, frosting, candles, birthday gift bags, new children’s books, new small toys can be dropped off at Benedictine’s Krasa Center, Room 012 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or after 5:00 p.m. at Benedictine University Police at the campus parking garage.
