As you might have gathered, Blackie is a jet-black domestic short hair who was brought to the Hinsdale Humane Society, 22 N. Elm St., on March 27 after her owner could no longer keep her. She’s spayed, house-trained, good with dogs and other cats, and is fully up to date on shots. Blackie’s relaxed and serene in her kennel at the humane society, where she’s known for being a “Personal Assistant.” She’ll try to help her owner out in all sorts of situations.

Because of his age, Blackie qualifies for the humane society's "Friends for Life" program. When adults 65 and older choose a pet that's 6 or older, the Hinsdale Humane Society will waive the adoption fee and pay for any spay/neuter surgery.
