Clean Up Safety
The Illinois Department of Health provides information for residents' safety when cleaning up after a flood or sewer overflow. To learn more about precautionary measures and safe cleanup efforts, go to [LINK]. Note in particular, it is unsafe to enter standing water, including basements, due to unseen hazards, possible electric faults, sanitary contamination and open sewer lids.

Property Damage/Loss
Residents should contact their homeowners insurance agents regarding any claim for damages due to a flood or sewer backup. Due to yesterday’s storms and resulting flooding, IL Governor Pat Quinn has declared DuPage County a state disaster area. In the event that FEMA Disaster Assistance becomes available to Lisle, residents should document damages, take pictures and save clean-up receipts.
