Heat Advisory In Effect Through Tuesday Evening

The National Weather Service is forecasting a period of intense heat.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through 8 p.m. on Tuesday. A heat index of 103 to 109 is expected. People are encouraged to take extra precautions to prevent heat related illness.

The chance for thunderstorms increases later today when a front moves into the area, according to the weather service. Showers and thunderstorms are expected before 10pm.

The weather service is predicting a high of 85 and sunny skies for Wednesday.
